Scott and Shelley Kelnhofer have been married since 1974, and have two grown daughters, Teri and Katie.
They founded Fenway Farms in 1994 by settling on a fifty-five acre parcel northeast of Hortonville, Wisconsin. On this land they developed an equine facility designed for their personal enjoyment. Fenway horses are permanent members of the Kelnhofer Family. Each Fenway horse is stalled nightly. Morning chores and turnout include daily grooming of each horse, including complete brushing, hoof picking and a thorough inspection of each horse to insure their complete well-being. Fenway horses are never sold, their name blocks are mortared into their stall fronts, to only be removed when they will be used as their markers.
This passion for their horses brought them to acquire sole ownership of Nanning 374. Now with Nanning in Wisconsin, Scott and Shelley can enjoy him all the time. Whether it be feeding, grooming, riding, driving or just watching him in his pasture, his addition to Fenway Farms has completed their barn. Scott and Shelley are very thankful to have such an opportunity to love and care for such a special animal, and they are looking forward to sharing their magnificent stallion with those who wish to invest in Nanning’s offspring.
In 2006 Scott and Shelley built a 15,000 square foot indoor riding arena. This arena was built so the horses could be conditioned on a year round basis. The addition of Jamie Van Linn as equine manager insures superior attention to the care and maintenance of the horses on a long term basis.
In acquiring Nanning, Scott and Shelley have enlisted the assistance of Dr. Kathy Fox as Nanning’s veterinarian and equine reproduction specialist. His health and well being is checked prior to and immediately after each collection. Her sixteen years experience in equine reproduction will insure that our customers will only receive the finest frozen or fresh-chilled semen. Nanning has a very high semen count, with superior motility and longevity. This will help make your breeding experience a positive one, with a very high conception rate on initial insemination. If a client needs additional information regarding Nanning statistics we will be happy to provide them. Successful breeding of our customer’s mares is our ultimate goal and we will accomplish that with support from our side of the fence any way we can. Please feel free to inquire if there is anything our team of professionals can do to help.
